Darjeeling - Monsoon
 1 tsp Per Cup
 212°F
 3 Min
Made in the late summer months from July to September when the estate is in full production with perfect weather conditions, our monsoon harvest is specially plucked from select fields with clonal plants that give Glenburn tea its own unique character. Our Monsoon teas are characterized by a rich amber cup that is full bodied and smooth on the palate. The flavour can also be complimented with a dash of milk unlike Darjeeling Teas from most other seasons.

Extra Info:

Tea in North India is produced for about nine months of the year, from March to November. The same tea plant may be plucked (harvested) thirty times during this period. Teas produced from the same plant, but during a different time of the year can produce a very different tasting tea because of a change in the environmental conditions, mainly the weather and season, which will affect the growing conditions. A good tea maker has to be very sensitive to these changes, and may have to fine tune his processes on a daily basis to get the best results. There is no machine that can help him, and he must rely on his finely tuned "nose". The tea that you will receive will be from a single "batch" of tea produced on a particular day of a particular season.

Suddenly, I see the point of single estate teas

Many of my friends had raved about particular Darjeeling varietals or harvests, but I hadn't really found any given flush or crop to be better than your average Darjeeling (and I've been a Darjeeling drinker for many years). This one is. It has a deep malty flavor without being bitter, and with subtle top notes that really contrast well with the rest of it. I'm a convert.
