The links for the past few months have not been working properly. However this issue should be resolved now, so I encourage you to click on links if you want to find more information about something.

The store will be closed on Sunday and Monday, May 11th and 12th. We have an events calendar which lists this kind of information. (Events Calendar)

I have made a time lapse video of one of the tea tastings. This is a fun way for you to get an idea about what it's like. Remember they are held on Fridays from 6-8PM and are free of charge, but do require a reservation. If you have a group of 4 to 6 people I can make special arrangements to do a tasting just for you on another night. (Video & Info)

Tea History:

Many forms of white tea were made in the Song Dynasty. Hui Zhong, who ruled China from 1101-1125, referred to white tea as the best type of tea, and he has been credited with the development of many white teas in the Song Dynasty. Producing white teas was extremely labor-intensive. Leaves and buds were picked from selected varietals of cultivated bushes or wild tea trees in early spring. They were immediately steamed and the buds were selected and stripped of their outer unopened leaf; only the delicate interior of the bud was reserved to be rinsed with spring water and dried.

Featured Products:

rightKing of Silver Needle: Silver Needles refer to the buds of the tea plant. Because white tea is the least processed type of tea, you can still see the fibers on the individual buds. The taste is a pure delicate flavor of dried grass. Three minute splashes in hot water keep bringing life to these little leaves. ($7.75/oz)

-

Pomegranate White: The pleasant aroma and taste of pomegranate is infused into this high quality white tea. If you want a strong pomegranate taste, drink the first infusion. However, if you're looking for a lighter flavor then pour off the first infusion, and re-steep for the full time. ($4.75/oz)

-

Painted Ladies Teapot: The Pretty in Pink Painted Ladies teapot, with a built-in strainer, drip resistant spout, and heat resistant handle has an elegant design. Pair with the Moulin Rouge tea cupsfor a modern and stylish tea set for the 21st century. ($45)
