New Mexico Tea Company
  • Spoon 1 tsp Per Cup
  • Kettle 212°F
  • Timer 5 Min

Hot Tea Brewing Instructions:

Bring spring or filtered drinking water to 212°F in a kettle. Add 1 tsp of tea leafs to a cup. Always pour boiling water over tea leafs and let steep 5 minutes.

Any of these variables can be changed to suit your particular palate, so experiment! Many teas can be steeped multiple times (especially green, white, and oolong). When steeping a tea multiple times increase the length of steep time slightly with each successive infusion.

Iced Tea Brewing Instructions:

1) Hot water method: For 1 gallon of iced tea, bring half a gallon of filtered water to boil in a pot. Turn off heat, and add 3 tablespoons (1 oz of tea), let steep for 5 minutes. Strain the tea into the other half gallon of cool water and refrigerate. If you want to serve immediately, you can pour the concentrate over ice to cool and dilute, then pour over ice again.

2) Sun tea: use a glass container and add 1 tsp of loose tea of each cup of water directly into the jug. Then set in the sun for a few hours, tasting occasionally to get the desired strength.

3) Cold brew: The slow cold-water-steeping method extracts natural sweetness and flavor from the tea leaf. It lessens the bitterness and tangy-ness produced by tannic acid so your tea tastes smooth and mild. Add 1 tsp of tea per cup of cold water and put in the refrigerator. When the water is chilled, your tea will be ready!

Blood Orange Rooibos is our most popular herbal blend. It has many levels of flavor ranging from the citrus orange with a light vanilla undertone, to the malty rich rooibos base.

Extra Info:

Blood oranges usually have pitted skin and are smaller than an average orange. The juice is sweet with a somewhat bitter aftertaste and less acidic than that of regular table oranges.

Rooibos, Orange peel, Hibiscus, Rose-hips, Apple pieces, Rose petals, Safflower, Natural flavors

I love this tea! I normally add a bit of cream and honey to my tea, but this one does not need it. It is excellent hot, but it is my new favorite iced. The refreshing citrus is perfect for the hot summer!

My wife and I discovered the NM Tea Co while passing through Albuquerque over New Year's. We fell in love with the shop and its owner/master tea blender. This tea looks inviting, has an exotic fruity tea aroma, and has a wonderful, full-bodied citrus/floral flavor. I strongly recommend it!

I ordered this tea on the suggestion of a friend and I was not disappointed. Best tea ever and i'll tell you why. The notes and tones in this tea are brilliant and they sparkle. They play together so that it's not TOO citrusy or TOO floral. A well-done masterpiece and a classic. I will be keeping in stock in my home.

I had this tea at the Sunshine Cafe. Iced. It was so good I went up to the counter and asked them to repeat again what kind of tea, and then the dude told me that it is from the New Mexico Tea Company. Right. Across. The. Street. And so I went, and bought me some. YUM. Fabulous cold, and just as fabulous hot.
