Show Description

Made in the late summer months from July to September when the estate is in full production with perfect weather conditions. This particular harvest tastes as fresh as the forest floor after a refreshing rainstorm. Fair warning, this tea can have a bit of a bite if steeped longer than five minutes but pleasant when cooled! The flavour can also be complimented with a dash of milk or sugar unlike Darjeeling Teas from most other seasons which are best enjoyed pure.

Extra Info:

Tea in North India is produced for about nine months of the year, from March to November. The same tea plant may be plucked (harvested) thirty times during this period. Teas produced from the same plant, but during a different time of the year can produce a very different tasting tea because of a change in the environmental conditions, mainly the weather and season, which will affect the growing conditions. A good tea maker has to be very sensitive to these changes, and may have to fine tune his processes on a daily basis to get the best results. There is no machine that can help him, and he must rely on his finely tuned "nose". The tea that you will receive will be from a single "batch" of tea produced on a particular day of a particular season.

Brewing Instructions:

Bring filtered or spring water to 190°F. Add 1.5 tsp of tea leaves to an 8oz cup. Pour boiling water over the tea leaves and let steep 3-4 minutes.

Ingredients:

Organic Darjeeling black tea,

Origin:

Poobong SFTGFOP, Darjeeling, India

So, I love this darjeeling so much by itself with a little milk and it needs no assistance from anything really. But on a whim, I decided to whip up a house blend with some of my favorite teas to see if they worked together. i found three parts of this Darjeeling Crescendo to one part Lady Londonberry made the most EXQUISITE blend ever that i've decided to make it my house blend here at the Lunsford residence. i do add a little cream and sugar (which may be blasphemous for some considering the bright notes in Londonberry), and it comes out absolutely astonishing. I feel like I've just plopped myself down in Monet's garden every time I'm drinking it.
