Re-branded in summer 2018, this tea is the same full leaf Assam tea just with a new name. The golden leaf Assam we carried in the past is no longer available and as this is the only Assam tea with golden tips in it that we carry, we have thus renamed the tea.

This STGFOP single estate tea is from one of the finest Assam tea estates, Doomur Dullung in eastern Assam. Teas from this estate produce a highly acclaimed liquor and are known for their unmatched flavor.

Extra Info:

In the local language, Doomur Dullung means the "fisherman's bridge". Graded STGFOP (Special Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe), this tea has the highest proportion of tips. The "special" means it also uses the highest quality leaves in that classification.

Brewing Instructions:

Bring filtered or spring water to 212°F. Add 1 tsp of tea leaves to an 8oz cup. Pour boiling water over the tea leaves and let steep 4 minutes.

Ingredients:

Full leaf black tea ,

Origin:

Assam, India

The dry tea is black full leaves of uniform size with many golden tips and a malty, slightly smoky aroma. In the cup, the tea is honey-amber in color and has a balanced, woody and green herbaceous fragrance. It has a thick mouthfeel (at one teaspoon per six ounce cup steeped three minutes in 205 degree fresh water), is smooth, balanced, and delicate with a pleasingly astringent mild bitterness. The taste includes a touch of saltiness and sweetness, no sourness, and finishes with an even stronger mouthfeel on the palate. Overall, for taste, aroma, and value, this is a superb black tea for mornings or afternoons. I enjoy it with a little sugar and just a teaspoon of milk.

Great Tea! It's 100 degrees in Carlsbad this time of year and I never miss my afternoon cup of Assam.
